Accessibility
We want Coteau to work for everyone, on phones, tablets and computers, with or without assistive technology.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The site is in beta, so we haven't had a formal audit yet; this page describes where we are today.
What we do
- Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall or wide, so they're easy to tap.
- Text and figures are checked for color contrast in light and dark mode, and gains and losses always come with a + or − sign, not color alone.
- Pages use real headings, labels and landmarks, and live status messages are announced to screen readers.
- The site follows your device's text size, and animations are turned off when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
Known gaps
- Some charts are pictures of data; where we can, the same numbers appear in a table or text next to them.
- Embedded third-party charts (TradingView) follow their provider's accessibility.
- A dedicated color-blind palette is planned.
Tell us about a problem
If something is hard to use, email desk@coteau.app with the page and what happened. We read every message and aim to reply within a few business days.
